Semantic Government Solution Offering

Supporting Assets are reusable building blocks that provide detail to complement the overall methodology. Many of the activities within the methodology have sample assets that can be referred to during the implementation process. There are a number of different types of Supporting Assets:

  • Background Documents are related to specific topic or category areas, and go into much greater depth than Concept Articles. These documents provide important and often essential background information for the topic at hand, but are not themselves methodology-, delivery-, or activity-oriented
  • Deliverable Templates are reusable framework documents to help guide the preparation of new structured content
  • Concept articles define key terms and provide links to further background information
  • Glossaries, Dictionaries, and Definitions provide additional term and acronym definitions
  • Related Links are compilations of external links and references for specific topic areas
  • Software Assets are the software artifacts (most all in the baseline case open source) that can be used as part of the overall methodology. This is also a good location for you to map in any local private software assets
  • Data Assets are sources of useful data or structure (such as indicators, ontologies, vocabularies and entities) useful to this SemGov offering
  • Tools and Technique Papers are methods that can be used to speed up the implementation process. These assets focus on a specific activity or technical problem and most often are "how to" in nature
  • Case Studies are example deliverables or project examples (both document and software-based) that provide guidance for portions of the overall implementation methodology
  • * Role Definitions are example staff descriptions that can be used for staff assignments, recruitment and qualifications assessment for various task activities within the methodology.

Substantial additions/changes to the Overall Implementation Guide are typically driven through the creation of Supporting Assets. Guidelines for contributing to the methodology define this process.
